Enhancement or “touch up” to Lasik or Lasek
At Yaldo Eye Center, our eye surgeons’ experience and skill, combined with access to state-of-art equipment, produces and tracks outcomes that exceed industry averages. In laser treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, our eye surgeons have sharpened their techniques and patented their understanding of what it takes to produce consistent surgical results. With a history of thousands of Lasik and Lasek procedures, Yaldo Eye Center maintains one of the lowest enhancement rates in the area.
As wonderful as new technology is, and despite the skill, knowledge and equipment available, we know that Advanced Vision Correction is not a form of divine intervention. Many variables that are outside the eye surgeon’s control all play a part in determining the patient’s surgical outcome. Patient fixation, or lack there of, the severity of correction, natural resistance to UV treatment, as well as the healing variance from patient to patient, are only a few of the variables that can cause differences between one patient’s surgical outcome and another.
As diverse as one patient’s outcome can be from another, there can be the same level of variance in regard to the patient’s “readiness” for an enhancement. It is critical to take all the necessary measures and precautions to determine if the patient is completely healed before moving forward with an enhancement treatment. As a rule, it takes the eye three to six months to heal before moving forward with an enhancement treatment.
